Hi, my name is Pedro, a Brazilian who came to Japan in April 2013. After completing my masters and PhD in molecular biology at Osaka University, I continued to live here while working in my field. However, my real passion is the Japanese language (well, language acquisition in general), an interest I've been cultivating since my university years. In 2012, three years after deciding to pursue fluency in the language, I was awarded a scholarship for my graduate studies. Before embarking to Japan, I obtained the N1 certificate for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) that same year. Now, having established myself here, I aim to bridge the gap between Japan and Brazil—and beyond—by sharing my experiences and insights. Other hobbies of mine include reading Japanese novels, especially of the mystery genre, traveling by train to and through Japan's old villages and towns, and attending concerts of artists I like. Of course, I plan to write about these topics as well. Thank you, and see you in my stories!

Oi! Meu nome é Pedro e eu vim para o Japão em abril de 2013. Depois de completar meu mestrado e doutorado em biologia molecular na Universidade de Osaka, decidi continuar vivendo aqui enquanto trabalho na minha área. Mas, na realidade, o que eu mais gosto mesmo é de estudar idiomas, principalmente o japonês. De fato, desde os anos da universidade venho estudando japonês por conta própria e, em 2012, três anos depois de decidir que queria ser fluente na língua, recebi uma bolsa de estudos que me permitiu fazer minha pós-graduação aqui. Antes de embarcar para o Japão, no mesmo ano, também obtive o certificado N1 do exame de proficiência em Língua Japonesa (JLPT). Agora, um dos meus objetivos é ser como uma ponte que pode encurtar a longa distância entre o Brasil e o Japão, compartilhando o conhecimento e as experiências que adquiri vivendo aqui. No meu tempo livre, também gosto de ler romances japoneses, principalmente de mistério, viajar de trem explorando as paisagens das vilas e metrópoles japonesas, e ir a shows de artistas que eu gosto. E é claro que pretendo escrever sobre esses tópicos também. Obrigado e nos vemos nas minhas histórias!

皆さん、こんにちは。ブラジルから来た Pedro です。2013年に来日し、大阪大学で分子生物学分野の修士と博士の学位を取得した後、そのまま日本で生活することを決めました。今もその分野に関連した仕事をしていますが、実は、私が本当に好きなのは語学であり、特に日本語が大好きです。大学時代から日本語を独学しており、流暢になりたいと決断してから3年後の2012年に日本の大学院に進学する奨学金をもらいました。同時に渡航する前に日本語能力試験1級も取得しました。そして、今はここで身につけた知識や経験を共有し、ブラジルと日本の間の長い距離を少しでも縮める架け橋になりたいと考えています。他の趣味は、小説を読むこと（特にミステリー）、列車からの風景を楽しむこと、好きなアーティストのライブに行くことなどです。これらについても書いていきたいと思いますが、最初は英語とポルトガル語でのみで申し訳ありません！日本語でのご連絡も大歓迎ですので、どうぞよろしくお願いします！
